in tourism, then the Latrobe Valley in the heart of Gippsland is the place

Dotted amongst the mountains and hills dozens of small country towns each with something to offer the traveller. Mirboo North where murals are the order of the day. A unique town, where the history of the area is not written down, but painted, each building a testament to the past. If you like the odd beer a visit to the brewery is a must. The Grand Ridge Road wends its way along the crest of the Strzelecki Ranges offering panoramic views from the mountains to the sea. Fond of your 'tucker' and after something just a little bit different then follow the Gourmet Deli Trail and complete the trip with a stay in the Valley. After all that food you‚ll need a good night‚s rest. Industrial Tourism, now just what does that mean? It means an enthralling tour of the power stations of the Latrobe Valley, night or day tours are available through Power Works. Are you ready to be taken for a ride? Well, Mountain-Top Experience are just the people to do it. Let them pick up from your door, and hit the roads and tracks in a four wheel drive. Visit the snow for the day, or explore the mountain regions with someone who really knows the area. A great way to explore. Fish fresh from the sea and golden chips. Port Albert's the place for you. A short drive from Traralgon and you are on the coast. You can hire a boat, or take a tour, wander through the Maritime Museum or just sit on the pier and share you fish and chips with the gulls. The perfect way to wile away and hour or two; and if you‚re still hungry a pie in Yarram on the way back is a must. To get the adrenalin pumping how about a little tandem sky diving with one of Australia‚s leading sky divers. What a way to see the valley. Valley View Tandem Skydiving. A joy flight out of Latrobe Regional Airport? From the mountains to the sea, the open cuts, rolling farmlands and national parks, and let‚s not forget the wilderness areas of Wilson‚s Promontory. You can even do a little whale watching, or maybe that should be 'big' whale watching. That‚s really taking in the valley 'at a glance' as the saying goes.
